<Abstract>
Objective: The present study aimed to predict health-related quality of life based on social intelligence, experiential avoidance, and distress tolerance in women with breast and uterine cancer.

Methods and Materials: This descriptive-correlational study included women with breast and uterine cancer attending Ayatollah Taleghani Hospital in Abadan in 2025. Initially, 300 participants were recruited using purposive sampling, and after excluding incomplete or invalid questionnaires, data from 286 participants were analyzed. Data were collected using the Health-Related Quality of Life Questionnaire, the Tromsø Social Intelligence Scale, the Experiential Avoidance Questionnaire, and the Distress Tolerance Scale. Statistical analyses were performed using Pearson correlation coefficients and simultaneous multiple regression in SPSS version 27.

Findings: Social intelligence was positively and significantly correlated with health-related quality of life (r=0.545, p<0.01), whereas experiential avoidance was negatively and significantly correlated with health-related quality of life (r=-0.317, p<0.01). Distress tolerance also showed a positive and significant correlation with health-related quality of life (r=0.602, p<0.01). The simultaneous regression model was statistically significant (F=67.081, p=0.001), with the predictor variables collectively explaining 41.6% of the variance in health-related quality of life (R=0.645, R²=0.416). Social intelligence (β=0.289, p=0.001), experiential avoidance (β=-0.104, p=0.001), and distress tolerance (β=0.429, p=0.001) significantly predicted health-related quality of life, with distress tolerance demonstrating the strongest predictive contribution.

Conclusion: Higher social intelligence and distress tolerance and lower experiential avoidance are associated with better health-related quality of life among women with breast and uterine cancer. Accordingly, psychological interventions emphasizing distress tolerance, reduced experiential avoidance, and enhanced social functioning may contribute to improving health-related quality of life in these patients.
</Abstract>

</OtherAbstract>
